Territory Acknowledgement
We would like to acknowledge that our home office is located on the traditional territory of the Snaw-Naw-As (Nanoose) First Nation, the Qualicum First Nation, and the Snuneymuxw First Nation.
We recognize and respect the rich cultural heritage, history, and ongoing contributions of these Indigenous communities.
We are truly grateful for the opportunity to live, work, and enjoy the land and waters of this beautiful region.
Our Commitment
At MMI, we prioritize the cultivation of positive relationships and the advancement of opportunities with indigenous communities throughout Western Canada. The executive team at MMI is fundamentally dedicated to exemplifying this principle via tangible planning, and we have subsequently established the following commitments:
Awareness
By December 2024, all permanent staff members will have actively engaged in recognized cultural awareness training.
Opportunity
By December 2025, a minimum of 10% of subcontracted organizations will be indigenous owned or operated.
Employment
By July 2025, a minimum of 10% of MMI staff will be represented by individuals of indigenous background.
